A Unique Binding System

Having been in the printing business a long time, I have seen, used and applied a number of different binding systems. Each has its place. There is no universal system due to various requirements and applications. From experience with classroom supplies, architects offices, law firms, engineers… we have decided to create , manufacture and invest in this system. An current incentive for this is the newer digital, and short run approaches to information accumulation and generation. We hope this will contribute to more efficient work and learning experiences.

CALL IT WHAT YOU WILL…we have created a unique system. Not because any of the parts are unique, but because you cannot currently find, on the internet, a place where they are all combined into a system. Our system parts include plastic spiral coils, various text, divider and cover weight papers, printed and special color text, back covers and protective acetate which are all pre-punched and round cornered. These are all compatible with our ruled journal/workbooks, often a starting point in a project.

PLASTIC SPIRAL COILS

The system uses standard Spiral Plastic Coils for the actual binding.

This plastic coil binding method is used in our system because…

1. It takes no special equipment to do a few
2. Books; a crimper-cutter tool is helpful however.
3. It can be compiled and bound at one’s desk.
4. The coils are relatively inexpensive.
5. There is no reasonable thickness limits, small or large
6. The books open 360 degrees
7. The coils and binding is strong
8. The binding travel well, as it is not crushable.

The Journal/Workbook is often the starting point of any project.

We produce and supply all the following compatible parts to provide a comprehensive, flexible system.

Text weight papers, blank, white

• 20/50 lb machine friendly bond
• 80lb Vellum Text for presentations and drawings

Special Papers

• 24/60lb ruled Journal paper, both sides
• 24/60lb blue for astronomy and blue print simulation
• 24/60 graph papers – 2 grid sizes, 5mm& 10mm

Cover/divider weight - 65lb cover

• 5 colors - blue, gold, kelly green, red, teal

Cover weight - 80lb cover

• 2 whites - Bright White, Natural white
• 2 colors – scarlet, sunflower yellow

Special Covers

• Chipboard - for back covers
• Clear Acetate – for protective covers
